Cache & Storage Policy
Learn how FirstDream manages client-side caching, edge networks, and live database synchronizations to ensure blazing speed while preserving accurate, real-time property data.
1. Caching Overview
Web caching is the temporary storage of web documents (such as images, stylesheets, scripts, and database responses) to reduce server processing load and accelerate page delivery across desktop and mobile devices.
FirstDream operates a multi-tier caching hierarchy comprising browser storage, HTTP protocol headers, and high-speed Content Delivery Network (CDN) edge clusters.
2. Static Assets & Expiration Schedules
To eliminate redundant downloads and save mobile bandwidth, our Apache HTTP server sends optimized Cache-Control and Expires headers:
- Images & Media (JPG, PNG, WebP, SVG): Cached for up to 1 year (
max-age=31536000). When property images or logos are updated, versioned query parameters (e.g.?v=...) ensure immediate fresh loading. - Stylesheets & Scripts (CSS, JS): Cached for up to 1 month with asset version stamps (
?v=timestamp) for seamless feature rollouts. - Web Fonts & Icons: Cached for up to 1 year on local devices to prevent font flickering (FOUT/FOIT).
3. Error Pages Caching Policy (Zero-Store)
no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, max-age=0 directives.
Why we enforce this policy:
- Immediate Recovery: If a developer rectifies a server issue or restores a temporarily unavailable microservice (500/503), users will never receive a stale error page from browser or proxy memory.
- Newly Published Listings: If a buyer accesses an unapproved or newly minted property URL (404), the moment admin approval is granted, refreshing will immediately load the live listing.
- Security & Authentication: Forbidden or unauthorized responses (401/403) are never cached, ensuring customer dashboard privacy is never compromised on shared computers.
4. Live Data Invalidation
Because real estate values, inventory availability (Sold Out vs. Live), and booking statuses change dynamically, property search results and transaction states are invalidated through:
- Database-Driven Live Views: Active listings are pulled directly with real-time RERA validation status.
- City Selection Synchronization: Changing your location via the top selector pill immediately updates the active session and repopulates city-specific developments.
5. How to Clear Cache & Force Refresh
If you suspect you are viewing an outdated version of a property page or encountering temporary network artifacts, perform a hard refresh:
- Windows (Chrome, Firefox, Edge): Press
Ctrl + F5orCtrl + Shift + R. - Mac (Chrome, Safari, Firefox): Press
Cmd + Shift + RorOption + Cmd + E. - Android & iOS Mobile: Open browser Settings > Clear Browsing Data > select "Cached images and files" > Clear Data.
